ROOF CLADDING SYSTEMS
Single Skin
A single skin uses one layer of profiled metal sheeting, usually attached directly to the building’s structural supports, such as purlins. This cost-effective solution is often found in industrial, commercial, and agricultural buildings.

CITB (BIRCHAM NEWTON)
Olive green 32/1000 box profile single skin and associated flashings.
Built-Up Systems
Built-up metal roofing systems include various configurations, such as twin-skin and standing seam weather sheet. These systems typically feature an internal liner sheet and an external weather sheet, a vapour control layer (VCL) and/or a breather membrane with insulation placed between the two layers to meet thermal performance requirements. Assembled on site, they offer flexibility in design and performance. The key difference lies in how the outer sheet is fixed: twin-skin systems use exposed fasteners, while standing seam systems use concealed fixings for a cleaner, more weather-resistant finish.
